Bio - Leah Pellinkhof

Leah Pellinkhof started her career in the entertainment industry as an actor appearing in various short films, TV Commercials and stage productions . Although she received much kudos as a performer, Leah decided to take a step out of the spot light to sit in the directors chair. Leah's directing experience has varied from Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet for the Queensland Shakespeare Festival to comedian Brett Matthews Playing with your Deck for the Edinburgh Comedy Festival.
In more recent years Leah has taken to writing and directing her own original plays.
Shows like the children's pantomime The Kooky Christmas Counterfeit at Harvest Rain Theatre Company, Shakespeare's Girly Bits at Front Row Theatre, the Dell'Arte award winning play The Works of William Shakespeare (BY CHICKS) co-written with Sean Pollard for World Shakespeare 2006, and her recent Matilda award nominated My Pet Human which also scored her a Dell'Arte Award for favorite playwright.

Leah has continued to be popular with audiences and critics alike. In running Starlight's Artistic Development Leah is committed to her true calling as a teacher. Having taught acting and writing both interstate and locally, she is working closely with the Centre Stage Players and is heading up the Theatre's Artist Development Program. Leah was a core instructor with Harvest Rain's MAD youth theatre program in 2006 and is currently on Staff at the Actors Conservatory. She is dedicated to casting emerging artists in her productions and is passionate about developing tomorrow's great talents.
